I'm sure I'm not the only one... But with me all my knives bite me once and never again. The quickest one was spyderco dragonfly. First flip and close it bit me. :). All are small and I kinda like it really. Makes the knife mine. Anyone else?

Except my PM2. It never bit me... But I did so on purpose. Drunk night and won a bet, and a knife :) kind of a pink slips on knives . lol

Got bit by my Bradley Kimura VIII recently. Unfortunately I wasn't even flipping it, I was oiling the blade when the steel handles slid out of my oily hands. I reflexively tried to hold on to the slipping knife with my palms (a terrible idea) and it bit deep into my pinky (almost took a chunk of the tip clean off, had to be at least a quarter to a third of an inch deep). Luckily it was freshly sharpened to a near mirror-polish and the cut was absurdly clean. Took a good 10 seconds before I even started bleeding, but it started gushing all over the place. Got it bandaged up quick and it had fully healed within 24 hours - never had a cut that clean before. Makes me want to mirror polish all my edges now...

Happened to me once or twice... My izula was hard to get out it's sheath on the first time being unsheathed. My hand twitched and sprung back, got nicked in the finger.

My VII has bit me a few times.... like when it closes on my finger or drops and hits my foot. Also, it once slipped out of my hand and got driven about half an inch into my thigh. Good times!

My most recent was from my new bk14. While wrapping it with 550 paracord it slipped and sliced me.. Didn't draw blood.. Just shaved the skin

This is what happens to me sometimes. Never understood how people cut themselves opening/closing a knife. Although I have sliced my thumb with a machete while sharpening. I attribute that to poor control on my part at the time. If those sorts of things continue to happen, one might want to rethink how they are handling their knife.

Ever do a blood shot?... I won a mini griptillian. That's what I ment my pink slips.. Only knife I had on me and a friend collects knives as well and be had it on him.. Someone dared us to do a shot of vodka.. The trick was you had to put a drop of your own blood in the shot glass. Not bad. Think it would have been good with Jagermeister

That sounds like fun. Minus the vodka. Tequila now...

I'm not a fan of tequila....Makes me sick and kinda mean.. No one else has ever been a fan of me and that liquor. The only way I have it is in a long island

Hell a few years ago I had a large spot of poison ivy on my legs... Used my knife to cut off the scabs and poorer gas over it to remove the oils.. Hurt like a sun of a gun.. But it worked

I last cut myself when first opening my ZT 560 a while back.

Had the blade locked open fondling the knife and my little finger at the second joint was resting on the "mini-choil" where the blade begins just next to the handle. I rotated the knife around the finger while looking at something else on the knife and I ended up with a perfect 360 circumcision of the joint.

Luckily it wasn't deep, just the weight of the blade, but it still made a very clean cut that took about a minute to bleed. Healed fast though. Damn that knife is sharp.

Nope never....

Dicking around the other day, I ended up opening a deep gash on my left thumb knuckle. I had to tape it shut to let the two sides reattach. It's slow healing because in spot is constantly moving. It was around an inch long, so the majority has healed but the part directly on the knuckle is still not better yet.

By the way, your thread title should be "Knives Bite":D

The few times I've cut myself with a folder, it was barely enough to draw blood. Most of my knife cuts have come from kitchen knives and I still have some nice small scars from a few of those. No stitches from knife cuts, yet, but in all, I've had 67 stitches from sheet metal, a Hurricane fence, a broken glass bottle, Formica-style laminate, a suspended ceiling tee, a concrete porch and a horse's hard head.

Only with my balisongs every now and then when flipping without the blade taped...Other than that nothing with folders...except for the time I had a lock back close on my hand as a kid when I was stabbing something which sent me to the ER...
