Knife bites. :).

It usually happens to me when I am sharpening my knives. Wiping down the blades and all of a sudden I see red, but feel nothing.

I cut myself on my new Beetle. I dropped it when putting it down on the table after taking this picture (the other knife is a Swamp Rat custom rodent solution that I bought from a friend).

Wasn't too bad though. I used to cut myself repeatedly when I flipped balisongs more and when I just started out sharpening. Not so often nowadays.

I had to tape it shut to let the two sides reattach. It's slow healing because in spot is constantly moving.

Electrical tape works really well for cuts! Even bigger cuts. Over the years in construction I've cut myself on several things and that seems to work the best in a pinch. Better than bandaids IMO. Always thought maybe the adhesive had something to do with it. :)

Cut myself on a fart-fan believe it or not.. Lol that needed 9 stitches.. Left them on a week and had them removed by the Dr. While driving back to work it opened and started to bleed. So I just put some ointment on it and Elec tape and a week later it was a scar already. Works great!

My routine for cuts is:

Pull the two sides together and apply pressure until the worst bleeding stops. Put a dab of neosporin hand tape shut. This kills germs and helps it heal. After a day or two, its usually healed enough to take off the tape. I take it off, apply a decent amount of vitamin E oil, leave it in open air for a few hours, then put a bandaid on it to protect it overnight. Remove bandaid the next morning, re-apply vitamin e, and let in breath for the next few days to heal naturally. Ive noticed that after the initial few days of taping, its better to allow it to sit in open air. Combined with vitamin e, it heals faster that way. The Vitamin E speeds up cell regeneration and keeps you from developing a scar (or helps at least).

EDIT: Hey guess what NGK sent with my new ESEE 4? A little plastic container full of bandaids that says "you're gonna need 'em!" HAHAHAHAH :thumbup::thumbup:

Got nicked yesterday from the new 941. The knife told me it did it because it loves me.:D I have battered knifenut syndrome. It was my fault the abuse occured. So still in love with it and can't bring myself to leave it. Really though one of the few smaller folders i have that i have an affinity for.

Yep, happened last night. I was splitting some sticks for a fire and got my left middle finger. Palm wood, eesh. It's very fibrous so splitting is easy but you get a tough spot sometimes at the ends. Just a recipe for unwanted slip; Push hard in the beginning and slip into butter straight down into my finger.
That'll teach me :D
Luckily it's not as sharp as your knives, It's a rough convex but with a nicely polished edge, thick shoulders.
I usually get bit once bad enough to bleed then never again with each knife.

t accidentally sliced one of my fingers when my fingers slipped with my 440v spyderco native(oiling it), some cheap gerber, (the serrations were ridiculously sharp) Byrd cara cara 2, (long story) buck vantage force gave me a paper cut like cut

Only a fool gets bitten by their knife!

Well, that's how I felt afterwards anyway.;)

I'm thinking about marking my knife in some way to tally how many times it bit me since I got it, so far it's at 3.

Ever do a blood shot?... I won a mini griptillian. That's what I ment my pink slips.. Only knife I had on me and a friend collects knives as well and be had it on him.. Someone dared us to do a shot of vodka.. The trick was you had to put a drop of your own blood in the shot glass. Not bad. Think it would have been good with Jagermeister

Get a cheap loaf of bread and you guys can have a religion.

Crk bit me recently.
And my leg was cut testing the "shaving" capabilities of my new sheepsfoot and it cut me on the tiny initial touch to my skin..... So I tried to adjust my blade angle,,,,,,,, and again,,,,,, lol.. Damn sheepsfoot is ground so thin it cuts it you look at it wrong.

I had a Benchmade Contego that cut three of us in succession.

1. Me while closing it, a serration point got me; 2. Girlfriend's dad, right after asking me "how did you cut yourself on your own knife?" like I was an idiot, boy did we laugh at that one, and 3. Good friend of mine, after telling him the above story and showing him my new knife. As he closed it, he handed it back to me then noticed his hand was bleeding, too.

Three for three! I shoulda kept that knife and called it "The junkyard dog."

For those taping their cuts closed, superglue works wonders. It has save me the trouble of getting stitches on several occasions.

I can't remember the last time I was bitten until yesterday when my new carbon Garberg decided it REALLY liked me and wanted to show me just how much. Left the sheath unheld, practically defying gravity to plunge upward, tip-first, a quarter-inch into the outer ball of my palm. The bite split in three directions and took 30 minutes for me to get it to stop bleeding. Almost went to get stitches. Then again today while spreading olive oil onto the edge after use, moving my finger parallel to the grind and away from the edge, somehow. That was a much gentler, cute little love bite. Still drew blood. (Awe :3 <3)

Confession: For the first one, I was being an idiot and testing how well the sheath held it in. It was holding firm for a few shakes until it decided to leave the sheath mid-fall. I caught it with my left hand as my right hand came down onto it, still in the downward motion. I felt so stooopid. xD
