Unfortunately books about knives aren't very popular at my local book stores so they aren't in stock.
So since I don't have the luxury of being able to look at a knife book before buying it
I,and I'm sure many other forumites, would really appreciate some reviews on knife books that some of you may have found to be good.

"The Wonder of Knifemaking" by Wayne Goddard, is an informative, quality book.

That's on my buy list Tex, a couple people told me it was good but a little more info would be nice too which is why i suggested reviews. The net is a great place to buy knife books for anybody that wants to shop for discount coupons. Using the discounts I've picked up a few for only a couple dollars each. Amazon and B&N coupons are easy enough to find but the super deals are at BUY.COM. they frequently offer $15 off coupons for and free shipping. I'll post links for coupon codes for good deals on knife books and knives as I see them.

How to make knives- by Barney and Loveless is a classic. There is a section on how to do stock removal by Loveless (from bare steel to making the sheath), a section on forging by Moran (same steps), a section on how to use handtools only by Barney and another section on tricks and tips, kinda. Oh, and at the end of the book is some ideas on handle materials and knife design. Do not buy this book if you want to learn the art of grinding- the tips are there but few in number. If you want details on how to grind, go talk to Allen Blade and get his tape for $13. For all other things (well, most of the important ones anyways) this book is great.
