I recently came across this Strider knockoff on ebay. This post is to make those who are just getting into knives
aware of the scams that people try to pull on you while browsing the net for that new tacticool toy you've been
wanting to get. Now, to be fair, the guy isn't claiming that it is a genuine Strider. But he did jack the price way up.
This is a screen capture from ebay. Note the price:
I thought it looked familiar. This knife is actually from China. Again, check out the price:
There are even more knockoffs of legitimate knife makers' work on this Chinese auction site:
More Striders:
Bayley knockoff:
Benchmade knockoff:
ESEE knockoff:
Extrema Ratio knockoff:
Extrema closeup. Notice the name on the blade is backwards
Microtech knockoff:
Chris Reeve knockoffs. Did Chris use AUS-8 steel for the Nyala? :jerkit: No! it's CPM S35VN.
What about 440 stainless? No.
I know some American knives are actually made in China and other foreign lands. But these people
are knowingly trying to pass these off as the "real deal".
