So, the handles on the Economy range come in both textured nylon and smooth cellidor, I didn't know that.
Tardis,
I still have one of those "budget" Victorinox SAKs
(I use the word "budget" just to distinguish it from the (nylon) Economy line - I'm not sure if this was a Victorinox term).
In fact it was my first real EDC - a "budget" Waiter model -
standard red Cellidor scales (no tools in the handles) - but the logo was press-in silver printing as opposed to embedded metal
EDC'd Jan/1982 to Feb/1988:

If you're dubious that this knife had been my EDC for over 6 years - when the handles still look pretty nice and the only evidence seems to be that the logo has worn off.......
Well, I found that one could polish the Cellidor handles with car polish and bring them back. Deeper scratches could be minimized by using metal polish or even the rougher car rubbing compound - then finished off with good car polish.
(The logo was not the usual scalloped shield - but a much simpler regular rounded triangular shield with Swiss cross).
Just as a note of interest the Combo tool on this model is the older version - see detailed discussion of the Combo Tool in this thread (linked):
