Knife Collection

Here are some pictures of my knife collection:

Tell me what you think.

I think if you are happy with your collection that is what matters. As time goes on your taste in knives might change, but as long as you interested in knives that`s fine.

You have to start somewhere;my 1st knife was a 1.98 imperial jack knife, now i have top production pieces,+customs from brian tighe, doucette, etc.that is quite a lot of growth from the beginning to now. Many hardcore bikers started out on mopeds,& 125 & 250 bikes....

Hiya "Wolf", welcome to BladeForums!

Nice to see a beginner's collection with such variety. Khukri, folders, bali, throwing...

I too would like to know what the knife in the green sheath is. And what is the set of three in the bottom?

The knives with the animal pictures, I've got some of those too that were gifts from family or friends. Don't recall a wolf in my collection, but I do have one with a yellow labrador. :)

Regardless of what is in his collection, he is still a knife collector and many of us started out like this. he likes that stuff then more power too him, I was sorta like this for a while (Didn't much care for those animal knives) but my stuff was less then quality when I first started collecting. I just had a interest in knives since I was 4 years old, didn't matter about the quality, just buying one just for the sake of having it! For me knife collecting was like this, CCC's, SAKS, MORE CCC's, Quality Production Knives "Tactical Variety", Quality Production Knives "Traditional and Modern. SAKS", Semi Custom Knives and then Custom knives. :D

Mattman is right, lighten up guys.

Looks like you have a good start. Keep all those knives as when you get older and your interests develop, you will look back and see how far you have come. When I was in my early teens, the County Fair would bring the prospects of new knives. I used to buy the $5 Balisong knives (440A), they were awesome.

All hope may not be lost. I think I see a Benchmade model 42 in that first picture.

Atleast, that's what my eyes want to see. :o

The Balisong in my collection is not Benchmade. Atleast I don't think it is. I got it off the internet for 9$. It's cool. I learned some tricks although the pivot pins keep sliping out.

The knife in the green sheath is an MTech 14 inch survival knife:

Good start to a collection Wolf, be warned tho, it gets more addicting as the knives get more expensive.

On a side note, after reading the reviews of that shirt, my entire family is getting one for christmas. That is seriously some funny s..t.

Because you guys are not girthy, and can fit your entire family in one shirt?

To OP: Interesting start to a collection. I personally don't get the entire knife "art" thing, with cases and all- knives are functional pieces to me, and so any "art" for me would be a nice wooden case, no pictures, perhaps a kanji, like I had with my al mar. I like clean lines though, so everyone is different.

My collection is quite modest in comparison, but I noticed an ugly trend in which the price of the knife kept climbing higher. It went from a Para2 S90V at $180-ish to a ZT 0551 for $200, then onto a used Large Sebenza for $316, then onto a Lionsteel SR-1 for $385, and just earlier this morning a brand new XM-18 for $660. That was this month's expenses:eek:. I guess I kind of forgot that the point of Christmas was to buy toys for others and not myself;).

And the really sad thing, is that they all do pretty much what that Buck in the foreground will do. ;)

Nice collection, when I started in my early teens it was the flea market in southern Indiana that we'd drive to from Chicago every couple of months to getting my first AWMA (Asian World Martial Arts) catalog and not to mention my first trip to We Be Knives in San Francisco back in 1991 when we came out for a family vacation (WOW! so long ago). I still have a lot of those pieces from those days and I'm glad I kept them because It's always good to remember who you are and where you came from.

That collection looks better than what I begin with. I grant, now I got good puukko's, spyderco's, benchmade, Busse and other good quality knives. Wolf tail, you're on right track. Don't let some of us steel snob tease you too much ;) Welcome and I hope you enjoy the stay.

And some would say that that's progressing deeper into perdition...;)

I like the way that the OP is unabashedly proud of his collection. Quite refreshing. :D

Hell he should be proud. As a teen all I had was some cheap slippies and a Mora my dad brought me back from Canada. The OP has the beginnings of a long and happy life of steel addiction.

Welcome to the madness and enjoy!;)
