Knife Combo's

How many of you are into knife combos in the woods?

I know an ax is king for tuff hardwoods and in the winter. But who prefers a large knife small knife combo from late spring to early fall on their multinighters and what do you use?

Here are mine, 1 set you probably seen me post a few times but I just got the David Farmer combo and damn they feel great. I am home with my daughter right now, but I will get out later this afternoon and do some work with it.

I think ease of carry is must for these combos.

The Koyote knives are super light so Belt carry is not too akward. Koyote girl is an excellent sheath maker. For the Heavier Farmer combo I opted for an Ilbruche baldric rig. Amazing work and since Bruce and I are about the same size it fits like a glove. The baldric is also adjustable with chicago screws. Damn find design:thumbup:

So what do you guys use?
 
That's where I'm at too. I love my Chopweiler/Swamp Warden combo:

Sheath by JRE, and the nicest I've ever seen or owned.

I love that sheath, JRE makes some good stuff. I'm also with you on the combo, but I just got it last week so I haven't had any field use yet.

Guys - both of your set ups are incredible - I especially love the sheath set ups!

I use a combo as well, generally it's a Busse BATAC and a seb + or - a gossman PSK

I don't have a combo, just wanted to comment that the osage set is awesome Tony. Love the handles.
 
I love a large blade and a small necker or folder..My current choices for large blades are
Covexed 12 inch tram being at the top of the list.

buck 110
spyderco delica 4
spyderco tenacious.

I'll be adding a recon scout
a spyderco paramilitary and a custom 110 to the mix soon enough.
 
That farmer combo is badass, the IB leather really sets it off nicely. Great stuff.

I don't keep too many big blades, except for my kabar bowie, which I love. I always keep either a Vic Rucksack, Vic Farmer, or livesay PSK knife attached to it. Sadly no pics, but I do have a pic of the livesay piggybacked to a RAT7

Me to. However when I do carry the combo lt's usually a larger knife and a folder. The Kabar Heavy Bowie and Vic Farmer for example. Or The SOG Jungle Fusion and the Outrider.

Yeah, I figured amigo! Just excited to find an excuse to rip on ya! :D I try to make sure I take 'before' pics of my new guys too.
PS- That Brute + necker is a great combo!

i don't have too many big knife small knife combos...:o i just like to carry a few different knives...:D

tell you the truth I forget I have it,It is on the other side of my Safe with the rifles hanging up,Not with my other Knives;)
 
Wow great knives fellas. TTD you have some awesome set ups bro.

If the combo works for you, it counts. That includes folders and fix blades, but I am reffering to large knives that will take the place of an ax or saw for chopping and splitting wood and what ever knife or folder your comfortable with for finer work.
 
Whoa, we need more pics of the Farmer combo. I like the looks of that setup.
