I'm feeling frustrated. I purchased an auto knife from KNIFE COMMAND.com. It arrived broken. Knife Command told me I had to pay to ship it back to the manufacturer for warranty repair. When I first contacted Knife Command they didn't even reply to me, the manufacturer did. I guess Knife Command forwarded my return request to them. I shouldn't have to pay to ship something I've already paid for. Very frustrating.

Welcome to the forum.
Which knife?
Maybe return the knife and ask for a refund, if you are not happy with the transaction.

I thought about contesting the purchase with my credit card but the web site fine detail does say this situation has to go through the manufacturer. Bad customer service. You roll the dice when you deal with a business that has a policy like this.

Talk to your credit card company anyway, as nobody can sell brokers items. I bet that they can do a chargeback, but don't wait too long.

Most dealers have the manufacturers handle warranty issues. Especially autos.

"I guess Knife Command forwarded my return request to them." Maybe they forgot to tell you that the mfg would handle it. A lot of mfg's pay for return shipping, especially on brand new defects. Who was the maker? Did they handle it?

Whenever you by a "swithcblade" you "roll the dice," as it is almost always countreband subject to seizure under federal law if it is shipped across a state border, and, under those circumatances, the shipping seller is subject to federal felony prosecution. Not that the G is busy enforcing the laws, but it weakens the byer's leverage when dealing wtih problems with the seller if the transaction, as is typical, was, in part (the shipping across a state line) a crime. :(
