Hello All,

I'm brand new here, but I am a huge fan of knives of all sorts. Without beating around the bush, I would like to commission a set of knives to use as Groomsmen's gifts, totaling nine knives. The general requirements would be something like:
- Drop point blade with straight or convex grind
- Full tang construction
- Hardwood handle
- Simple leather sheath
- Simple commemorative engraving
- Price point of around $100 per knife ($1000 max total) - that's the kicker

No idea if this is the right place to make such a request, but, if anyone is interested in taking on this project, please feel free to link me to your work and we can discuss further. Also, please feel free to send me to another forum page more appropriate for this request.

Best,

Scott

You might wanna head to the knife exchange section and see the work of some of the members. A lot of talented people here. And hit them up.
Or the mods could steer you in the right direction.
Welcome to BF and good luck!

Hi Gafishing,

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check out the exchange (and maybe reiterate this request there), as well as peruse the hosted knifemaker pages. Any additional advice on how I could wrangle the mods for their input?

Best,

Scott

Well....for a custom knifemaker you may not find any solutions. I do budget type knives as well as re handling commercial knives.
While you may be able to find a custom for 100$ it will probably be from a very new maker who wont be comfortable taking an order for 10 knives. It would be very hard to turn a profit.

One consideration would be to by premade/heat treated knife blanks from somewhere like jantz. Then you could just have them handled and then a custom etch or engraving applied.
