Knife damage. *graphic content*

I too would like to see more photos. Not sure how the tip and edge were broken out like that? Seems like it would take several different applications of force so you would have to break off the tip then go back at it and break off the edge in one or more movements.
^^^ This My thoughts exactly. Just too many things don't make sense on the damage shown and the reported indecent of what supposedly caused the damage.

Its a good example of how not to use a knife or not quite knowing how to use one.

It was probably the heat treatment, or there may have been hidden flaws in the metal.

When i bought this knife it was new. I was concerned with the edge from the start because the tip was blue at the edge. The whole blade edge itself was very rough too.
I admitted that I definitely did abuse and use the blade in a poor manner. The flower pot had a 3 foot tall evergreen bush in it. The bush was root bound. The root ball was solid. My guess is between the hard plastic pot and the soild root ball and me torqueing the blade, the knife didnt stand a chance. My mistake.

Nope a Buck should never broke like that.

Still shouldn't have broke. That blade might as well be made out of cheese. That's bad heat treat right there.

That is crazy! Did you abuse it? A bit. It should have emerged dull, not shattered. That appears to be a metallurgical fault.

You know, the tip is squared off kinda like a, a, screwdriver. Grind everything else off and you'll have the one and only Buck, liner lock, flat nosed, screwdriver. Patent that sucker. :)

Dang! That is a lot of damage just by cutting a flower pot. The flower pot really fought back. Ha!
