Knife design, help! :)

Attempted to round out umber 1 handle just to see, think I got the blade shape a little wrong, I'm also playing with the sizing a little. I like the rounded handle but I kind liked the more pointy one to, trying to image how it would change with scales and steel thinking it out some.

I think thats umber 2 and the 3/4 hybrid, it's starting to get hard to keep track, thanks buddy. I'm going to try umber one with one of those blade shapes and rounding the handle slightly next.

thanks all, it helps it get opinions from the experts.

It all depends on your like or dislike of finger grooves. I would jump all over the first two, the third doesn't do anything for me.

Thanks for the input, I think your right they all have about the same blade shape by now taking on the suggestions or everyone and playing with scissors for myself.

They all fit comfortably in hand as well, I think it's coming down to looks, and which ones most handsome, ;)

My dad is an engineer. One thing he often says is "if it looks good, it will work good". He's often right. While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, often things will look good to us because our brains say "that will work great". Also, when we like the way something looks, we will tend to do better work with it. If you like your tools then you will do good work with your tools.

Sounds like a good philosophy to me, ummm, I think the second one might be to designed, comfortable in only one position, then again it is handsome, damn it, though I had something there. Are you back at work now?

Yeah, I only had three days off. I'm sitting in Reno waiting for a load to haul today.

I agree on the handle. Finger grooves are not my thing.

Got to love a free weekend, :)

I'm liking the top & middle ones also, the finger groove looks good but does limit your grip options.
If you took about 1/8" off the point it wouldn't be bad in an upside down grip.

From the beginning of the post, I liked number three, The Turn. Not a lot of difference between two and three but I like the dimensions, the jimping, and with the contoured blade made to your exact specifications, it would be a custom piece that would fit you like a glove with ease of use to match. It would appear that -- looking at the latest pictures -- I'm voting for the middle one. I would name this one "The Hermit." Why? Strong, self reliant, one-of-a-kind :)
