Knife Dilemmas Contest

:DThanks tknife, I kinda agree. While I really do appreciate the thoughtfulness and reasoning everyone's provided, it is just a contest:p Have fun, show some pics, really just tell me what you like! As an added incentive, regardless of the knife I end up buying, I promise that the sharp thing that comes in the prize package will be American Made:eek:

:D:D:D

I think you are taking the tone of the original post too seriously.

Sorry, just re-read...didn't mean to come off quite as serious as that...I suppose I do need to lighten up a bit. I'm rather new to the contests and not really used to them yet. Actually I can't present a case for the knife design I happen to like best...I'm still waiting for the prototype that won't be out until the end of this year, till then it's covered by non-disclosure

Walter, Here's my reply, for $215

I did end up looking up some more info on the original SOG knives. There's some pretty cool pics here for anyone interested:http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16830

Cool, glad I didn't come off so serious as to offend, thanks for the link, I don't think I've read this one, won't know till I get there but I don't recognize it.

That's ok, thanks anyway Walter. Lol, I already have more knives than I will wear out in the rest of my lifetime...some of them even U.S. made :p , and I have enough firesteels to pas out to the students in my workshops and still have one in each of my packs (I have two and a shoulder bag), one in my wife's pack in her car, one in my daughters bush kit and I still have a few in the closet unopened...I think I'm good at the moment :D , but I do look forward to seeing what the prize is for whoever wins it

Ok... since we have already established that the SOG Bowie "won't work well for" you....., and so if I am to "shill" for my favorite knife maker with a good sized medium blade that should make your day then it Shall be this knife by Rick Marchand of Wildertools, known here as Magnussen. It would definitely make my day to get it, I love this knife. However I think it might be a bit more than $275.00

Hey, just wanted to bump this up there one last time, make sure everyone gets a chance! Thanks, everyone, for your entries so far:thumbup:

Hey all, thanks for the entries. The I'll get with the GF today and have her pick the winner:thumbup:

Wow, this thread is crazy. I did not need to see all these blades. I now have about 5 new $200 blades on my wishlist, including the Fallkniven Oden, the Magnussen, the Hudson Bay, and others. Time to start selling things.

Hey all, just got back from a couple of hours of toolin' around in the boonies, and I got the girlfriend to sit down and review the thread. I walked away for a couple of minutes and when I came back, she had a sheet of paper, a list of entries, and whole scoring system set up:eek: Anyway, a half-hour later, she pronounced BarberFobic1992the winner:thumbup: Congrats:D:D And thanks everybody for the entries:thumbup: Now I've got to work on earning even more $$$, there were way too many nice knives in this thread:p I think the gf got some ideas, too:grumpy:
