I looked but couldn't find an existing thread for this, although I'm sure there's been one.

I put this together yesterday. I'm pretty happy with it but will probably make a couple changes if I make another. Anyone have any others to show?

Looks great Dude!

I will be making one in the coming weeks, if I ever get free enough to do so. Im thinking a wall mounted display from some rustic wood I have. Im gonna use a sheet of metal, covered in some neutral fabric, as a backing with permanent magnets to hold the knives.

For a second one, Im going to take apart a shadow box I found to make one for my growing family of 73s.

However, my 2 year old is related to Spiderman and Curious George and I need to figure a way to keep her out of them. The girl is a tinker and loves to climb. :D

Very cool rack there, duderubble. I'm ashamed to admit that my knives all reside in a desk drawer. Well, eight or nine are scattered around my desk top at any one time and the rest are in the drawer. ;) Sooner or later I'm going to have to figure out a better system for storage.

My son suggested a plexiglass cover over it which would be easy to do.

Im certainly going to have to do that, with a lock. I just walked into the living room, 20 mins ago, where there is book case. My daughter had moved a chair over to it, climbed the chair, and had my peanut in her hand. She saw me and said, "Here ya go da da!" Im just thankful it wasn't a fixed blade.

My heart is still beating like crazy over the thought.

Parenting isn't for cowards!

I have mine layered in my desk drawer sandwiched between layers of lap sponges (which, despite their name, are folded up squares of a light cheesecloth), with each layer in alternating directions (lengthwise, sideways). Works well for hiding the actual numbers from the wife, but bad when a knife you want to carry is on the bottom of 4 layers and you have to get them ALL out to get to that one.

That doesn't include the ones still in boxes and tubes that are stored in magazine boxes up on a shelf. I'm pretty sure my wife knows I have "a lot of knives" but if they were all spread out in front of her it might be an interesting conversation.

I do want to get some sort of drawer dividers or a small desktop shelf unit so I can make it easier to get to them. I've got some ideas but as of yet haven't bought anything.

I do love that work you did there. Nice little display.

:D

I also wouldn't want them visible to workmen, the kid's friends, or other casual visitors in the house.
