Knife Display Racks

I built this one so I could look at a some of my collection. It has a plex cover that is replaceable, holds about eighty knives, and has a door in back that locks with a key. Kinda too small though.... :o

Gunstockjack that cabinet is gorgeous!

Just stumbled onto this thread yesrerday , and what a nice thread it is. I just made these this month .

They do not hold all of my knives , but that was not the objective.

I love the examples that have been shown so far. OP, thanks for starting this, I have often thought of something nicer to display some of my prettier knives and/or those that just have some sentimental value.

For now, I just have a couple of cabinets that house the knives that I'm not currently carrying. One for those out of boxes that I really like to look at now and then, and one for any duplicates or knives that were purchased specifically to be given away as gifts at some random time in the future, all still boxed. For the "display" cabinet, I tacked up some L.E.D. lights to make it easy to see everything front to back. But it's still mostly a piled mess on each shelf.

Dang, Barry! That is a sweet display! You truly are an artist, ole' buddy!

There are two there drew my attention. That sweet Case jack in the middle of the second row from the bottom caught my eye right away, and after staring at it for a few seconds, I realized why I recognized that knife. ;)

Harry, those are some really well done cases as well! Awesome job on the carvings, and the joinery! I sure do love me some fine woodwork!

Aww shucks.. Thanks, Harry!

Your skills are definitely real enough! Woodworking can be so gratifying, especially when it compliments your other hobbies!

I couldn't cope with a knife collection without a display rack. I put this simple one together (as a trial), and love it, but now I am liking Barry's larger version above - and I think I'll need one shortly!

OMG, that EAGLE! EAGLE! EAGLE! knife really makes the cabinet pop!

I am a fan of cigar boxes for watch and knife storage, they are designed to help with humidity control which helps with carbon blades... I am thinking of cutting out a panel in the lid and replacing it with lexan for a more visually appealing presentation.

Mine are felt lined and with the lexan will come partitions for keeping them from getting dinged up.

I do like that cabinet, it looks French ? I guess i am old fashioned i keep my favourite knives in old cigar boxes.

Possibly, I've had it for at least 20 years and can't remember where I got it. I have a cigar box filled with knives I keep vowing to sell to free up cash for better knives!
