I was thinking about different ways to finish knives.

I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone else does or has pics of different finishes or coating on blades

Post up some pics of any finish or coating for knives please!!!!

while I don't have pics readily available, the finishes that come to mind are:

Cerrakote (cerakote?)
Cold bluing
Forced Patina (mustard, vinegar, bleach/steel wool, etc etc)
Powder Coat
Parkerizing

Those are all "coating" finishes. As far as actual metal finishing:
mirror buff
vertical 'brushed'
horizontal 'brushed'
hand rubbed satin
media blasted (different media types would of course produce different results, most common is shot peening and glass bead for unique finishes)

Thats all I can think of right off the top of my head.

I have used Duracoat with great results

That knife is just sick bro, totally bad ass. Great use of the Skullmaster stencil and fishnet. I assume that was fishnet used for the snakeskin?

You can also use the stuff they have in bars where they store glasses. It's a thicker plastic weave in a very nice diamond shape. I've used it airbrushing before.

i know everybody has seen vinegar patinas [and probably my bad picture] before, but i love the way this looks on L6:

household vinegar immersion at room temperature [probably around 70f] for 3 hours.

i haven't yet been able to get really fine finishing down, so matte finished are right up my alley at this point.
