Who makes the Para cord knife fobs that I see here now and then? Thanks.

I know how to make them, they are nothing pretty, but they are not ugly. If you want one PM me your info and I'll send it to you. I've got an extra OD green one.

I've been making some. Its been something to do while stuck indoors this winter.

I went to Jo-Ann Fabric and Michaels Arts and Crafts today looking for the sliding buckles to make a couple bracelets but everything they had was way to big.

I make my own to - but I need to get off my butt and become a Gold Member so that I can sell my stuff. My Right made a link of stuff that looks very good.

That Turk's head knot looks really cool. I watched the video and it looks like it takes forver to tie though.

Thanks TF. ;)

These are my first attempts at fobs and braiding.

I tie them all and sell, but cannot seem to get the helix down... Anybody have a tutorial? Help a brutha out

I'd just really love to get my hands on one of those paracord bracelets... I got fussed at last time I tried to hawk TF about it, though. :p

Thanks for all of the replies guys. My wife can braid like a champ, she learned on our daughter.:D. I will check into these further

I have done some of the bracelets with single piece of cord and no buckle. They are real easy to make with a bead or button, and you don't have to buy a buckle. You will need some lighter cord for whipping, to make your button loop and to tie the button to the paracord. I have never used the buckles because I never had any available that I liked.

small buckles are easy. I often strip thrift store bags of them.

A very good book for helping figure out some of the knots (and for making other cool things) is

The Marlinspike Sailor
by
Hervey Garrett Smith

published by dover, about $16.

It has really good and modifiable instructions for the monkey fist, turks head, and star knot.

It has some great other projects, including a simple but really sturdy rope ladder, mats and such. If you work with regular 3 twist rope at all, you can do some really ingenious stuff. It even has an addendum in the back for making eye and end splices in modern core/sheath lines that works for 550. (Okay, Doc, I'm waiting for a double eye spliced 550 project from you now!)

Cool site, Bushman. He's got a pretty cool little prybar on there also.
