Knife Folder Repair

Several years ago I purchased a custom folder with side opening mechanism at Blade Show. It has seized up with a little rust and I need it fixed, cleaned and touched up. Can you guys recommend someone.

Have you tried lubing it and cleaning the rust out yourself? Most knife mechanisms are pretty basic. If it's too complicated, I'd try sending it back to the maker.

Ron NEwton and he has refused to address. Really not his fault but you would think he would respond to a request to repair or diagnose. Wrote him a zillion times and sent knife and he sent it back untouched. It was a beautiful knife and i will try to take pics and include.
