Knife for a girl

Take her shopping and let her pick one. She'll be more likely to use one that she has picked out than one that was suggested by strangers. even if its something that you normally wouldn't consider, if it gets her interested, its worth the coin.

Quoted for truth. That being said an Izula sounds great. :D

Here is the picture bearthedog has in S.W.A.T. magazine comparing the Rat Izula, TOPS Trailmate, Becker Necker and my Backup. Any one would be a good choice for a women (or guy :D)

Just an example of an womanly knife is the Brusletto Rypa. To some degree intended for women, like the fallkniven wm1, but I would not be embarrased for carrying it myself.
My wifes wilderness knife is an old gerber droppoint bolt action folder. Works for her. It is most often used for food prep, long ago I teached her how to slice bread with a short knife, with her tight as a cutting board:)

Hope you don't mind me chiming in, but from a woman's perspective... let her choose. Take her shopping and let her handle several different knives, let her start figuring out her own preferences. She just might surprise herself and you. Regardless of the brand, style or size, if she's not comfortable with it, she won't reach for it when she needs to.

Exactly.
My wife loved the BM 707, so that's why I got it for her.
I've thought other knives would suit her better at times, but she didn't like them, so they would not have gotten any use, like you said.
