The Socom Elite is great. There is also one with a camo handle and a black blade. Looks really good.

I've sold to a lot of Marines. Most get my Combat Model 5 with a 7 inch blade. Because your getting it for him, you'd get a discount.
If he breaks it, I'll replace it.

As far as when he'd carry it? Large fixed blades stay locked up in the arms room, until they draw weapons, he will get it then.

I have not read the rest of these replies, but I am going to suggest a Randall #14. About five years ago, a friend of mine received a #14 from his father when he graduated Ranger school. I figure if an Army Ranger totes a #14, it must be one hell of a knife. And besides, it just looks mean.

Junglejim308,

just now I visited your web site. – The knives look like you promote them, tough!
I especially like the COMBAT MODEL5A1 and the COMBAT DAGGER MODEL1. Great knives!

In a week or so I'll have a couple of pictures up showing "options". A Combat Dagger with two inches of serrations on both sides. Then a Combat Model 5 withe two inches of serrations, and a half guard. Out on the spine are some thumb grooves, and farther out grooves for the index finger.

Try taking a look at the new Next Generation series of Kabar knives. I haven't quite given in to the temptation to buy one myself but I hear that they are an awsome knife.
