I'd say, go for a ZT0200 or a Blur (either CF CPM154 or S30V). Heck, I'm loving my Vantage Pro, too, and it's half your budget price. Get one for both of you!
I am in IT and have been doing a lot of wiring of a renovated area here at work. The Vantage has been awesome to use for cutting pull-strings or stripping cable shielding with one-handed operation. Of course, most of the knives mentioned here could handle it, it's just what I've been using.
