Knife for Daughter???

How about a spyderco Dyad Jr.? My girlfriend has been eyeballing mine, so it must not be too bad for women. Of course, she's also been playing with my mini-griptilian for awhile, and I know she's not stealing that one from me. :)

Has anybody out there had some good luck procuring blades that would catch a females eye?

How old is your daughter?

I think the SAK is a good suggestion.
Another suggestion would be knives with colored handles.

I got my daughter a pink Vic Classic when she was tiny because she liked the color, a SwissChamp for her daypack and a Recruit for EDC.

Hey Truck, you said slim and about three inches so I would recommend a Spyderco lightweight Jess Horn. They may be a little hard to find though. Second choice along the same lines would be a Spydie G-10 Rookie. Good luck!

IMO, these are by far the BEST(my favorite)smaller hard use knives.
Benchmade 556 mini griptillian
SOG mini X-Ray
Benchmade 556 mini griptillian
Spyderco Delica

"you said Benchmade 556 Griptillian twice!"

"i like Benchmade 556 Griptillian!"

My daughter's ( 11 yrs old) favorite is her Livesay G45 neck knife.
She like's it better than any folder of her brothers
;)

Hmmm, I have been pondering about a knife for my daughter in a year or so. For fixed blades, how about a small scandavian style or an AG Russell Hunter's scapel?

Maybe you and your daughter would enjoy making a Scandinavian knife together. Take a look at the kits that Ragnar sells at Ragweed Forge.

My daughter and I made her Brusletto fixed blade from one of Ragnar's kits. She really likes it and we were able to form the handle just for her size hand.

Just a thought.

TT2Toes, way to go getting your daughter involved with this handcrafted project. What better way to learn about the time & effort required to design & produce anything of quality. Plus, she has a useful tool for today that could easily become an heirloom.

Re Scandinavian style knives -- I made a small fixed blade for my wife using the 58mm "Ola" laminated blade from Helle (also purchased from Ragweed Forge). It is a *very* sharp & useful little unit. Here's a picture:

Sorry, no image of the sheath, which is simple black leather with no straps or cords (at least for now).

Best wishes for a happy 2003,

Andrew

My ex-girlfriend really likes a puma steelmaster 2 mini, they come in drop point and tanto style total length open 5.1 inch

http://www.eurodart-merle.de/Messer/Puma/puma.html

It's in Aus-8, handcrafted and I bought mine for 40$ She'll love and it has a nice european touch!

Or this baby

Which I bought for half the price 'cause it's 440A but still a decent knife with a 2 1/4 inch blade and a 3 1/4 inch handle

If you wanna know more just post me

Truck = which one did you get? and for what reasons?

Thanks!
