Knife for Groomsmen???

I'm with my fellow Mnandiac, PWork, on this one. Get the V'nox Alox Bantam, Classic or Cadet. SAKs appeal to knife enthuists and well as the uninitiated. I would suggest that you have their names engraved in the engraving panel. I think that would be a very nice touch. ;)

BTW, congrats and best wishes to you and your fiancé. ;) ;)

They do engraving on all Vic SAKs.

I gave my groomsmen the explorer with their initials engraved into the handles. They looked nice with the silver letter filling. They all loved them.

Hope this helps.

Hey Glocker , I'm going to try to steer you away from a knife for your groomsmen. I dont know what 'sort' of guys your friends are , if they are like us then I guess a knife would be good idea but if they arent like us....
In my experience people who arent knife or gun people usually wont have much to do with a knife or a gun... Gift or not.
Several years back my Brother got all of us in his groom party the most useful grooms gift I can think of , a Gerber MT , engraved.
I carry mine and use it every day as do a few of his groomsmen who are friends of mine also. It doesnt have to be a Gerber , there are a lot of nice multi-tools out there , also they are far more useful than a knife and will be used a lot more , unless your looking for that special gift that will tucked inside a sock drawer.
You get BM's prepare to spend a sh*tload of cash. These engraved Mt's cost my Bro almost 200$ , very well spent.
Everyone loves a good MT

They are all shooters and/or hunters and all carry knives daily. There are probably 150 guns and 200 knives between the 5 groomsmen and 2 ushers. This is Kentucky, brother.

I once received a knife for being a groomsman. It was a small Case slipjoint, stag I believe. Classy, and the just right size for gentlemens' pockets.

Another vote for the kiwi, another thing is that giving out knives as gifts is like giving out cigars, give them the nice and expensive ones, they will only appreciate them if they know cigars/knives. To most others i think they will be happy enough to get something at the middle-price range.

i bought small SAK for all my groomsman....one of my old college roomates from 20 years ago came to visit recently and i was pleasantly suprised to see him still carrying it!

Must be SS...

My vote goes to the Spyderco Cricket or Dragonfly. The Chive would also be a fair bet though.

I think it would be a great gift. These are small, non-intimidating knives. I have given a few away as gifts to relatives over the years who were not knife nuts and every one of them just loved 'em.

I think you're ok for just considering this. I would have loved to do this at my wedding if i could afford it. BTW, my one year anniversary is coming up in May. When my wife asked me what I would like, guess what i said..... yep, a Cricket or Dragonfly :D

I bought Leatherman Waves for all of my groomsmen...all 5. That was expensive. Had them engraved with their initials. That was in 98. They all still carry them, one carries it to work with shirt and tie every day...very useful tool. I know you mentioned a knife, but thought I'd put this out there as well.

Congratulations on getting hitched.

Randy

I can't believe that no one has offered to stand in for one of the groomsmen should in the event that one of them is unavoidably tied up, I mean detained. Just let me know and I can be on a plane in 30 min. My initals are MNG.
Any of the groomsmen fans of money clips? My dad and I carried one with a knife and file for years, his was had his initals on it. When he passed away it came to me and I have carried it ever since. Not my main pocket knife (buck prince) but it is sheeple friendly, and I nice back up. My kids are all ready arguing about who get's it when I pass on.
Congrads on the nuptuals.

I got married last October and got my groomsmen Spyderco Crickets with their initals engraved on them. None of them are knife collectors but they all still carry theirs daily. Most of them as money clips. Another choice is a Xikar, but you'll spend a little more.

It's hard to beat a good SAK, but engraveable they're not.
They're not? Most of the "ribbed" alox models have smooth places meant for engraving, and any of the plastic scales can be engraved.

Sorry, I was thinking of the soldier, forgetting about the little ones..my saks are plastic-not too engraveable.

I only had 3 groomsmen,
and I got them Kershaw Kai Shun Damascus knives.
everyone needs a little damascus.
they ended up pretty happy.
Now if there were 8 of them....
Maybe they would have gotten something else.
