The Marine Combat Utility Knife, otherwise known as the Kabar, is inexpensive, durable, and comes in blade lengths from 4 inches to 8 inches, carbon or stainless steel, leather or Kydex sheath, serrated or non-serrated. Between parent company Kabar and Ontario, there are enough variations to satisfy just about anybody. I would suggest adding a good SAK or multitool to handle fine work.
