Knife for the reserves

We have one of your neighbors playing for the University of Alabama National Champion football team. Defensive tackle-Jesse Williams also hails from Queensland. He is one of the most popular players on the team with both his teamates and the fans.

Any more like him??

Many of us have grown up playing either rugby or aussie rules, just don't ask about our AFL team. One of the big differences between our rgby and your football is we don't wear any armour. The two games are very similar so I would say that being good at one would make you good at the other.

...I have been considering the Rat-3 and SOG Seal Team, both very different knives and both serve their own purpose. Basic requirements are that its fixed blade and good sheath, needs to be able to fullfil any work out in the bush from cutting to digging to chopping.
I don't think you are going to do much chopping with any of those blades. Too short and too light.

You already stated that you will have a multitool on you (Leatherman) so you will have one or two blades (plain and serrated) depending on which model you will be carrying. If you feel the need for something stouter for chopping, prying or whatever... I wouldn't carry anything smaller than the RC-6... and I feel it is on the light side for chopping anyway. For some heavier duty chopping you could try to get one of the knives suggested by chiral.grolim in the first posts of this thread.

Good luck!

Find out what is legal first, then go small and practical. High likelyhood you will not have to kill anyone in training.
