Looks nice. I love the sheath. Tell us about the handle. It looks most unique.

A kickstand? What's next? Maybe I'll have you make one from the break pedal on my Oldsmobile.

Thanks for all the kind words here. The handle is Giraffe Bone, and contains 160 nickel silver pins. The sheath is nickel silver all the way,It is constructed of 8 different pieces one of those is a steel pin in the ball on the tip.
A Oldsmobile brake pedal ,hmmm You guys are giving me ideas here,A connecting rod off a six pack (wish I had one and the car to go with it)With access to my parents Scrap Metal Yard I shouldnt think on this kind of stuff to much as I will be bringing the stuff home and not getting things that I should done (mainly orders)

Cool knife. I have a beautiful fighter by Jerry Duran with a chain damascus blade forged from a Harley chain. The handle is ivory, and I had Sandra Brady scrimshaw a Harley on it. It came out great! (sorry I can't post pics)

Bruce, Grrreat knife!

I really like the Michael Price/California Bowie looks with ivory handles and lots of well placed pins.

Gollick, this handle configuration was common in knives made about a hundred years ago by the famous cutlery makers in San Francisco (such as Michael Price). Those old knives fetch tens of thousands of dollars on the open market. Several high end custom makers specialize in either copying, or adapting this style of knife. Knife World had a great article about California Bowies just a couple of months ago.

Thanks for sharing Bruce

I finally found time to respond to Bruce's picture of my knife. Some of you remember that he made me a boot knife from a Harley primary chain, last year. Well, we were talking about what other part of a Harley might make a good knife, and knowing first hand how tough a kickstand is, I figured one might make a fine blade. Bruce, being ever accomodating, was more than willing to give it a go, so we decided to do a Price dagger.
As you can all see, the knife turned out beautifully. Bruce's grind lines are flawless, as usual, and his hand rubbed satin finish is second to none. All those pins in the Giraffe bone handle really give the knife an antique flavor, much like the way many of the old rifle stocks were adorned. The sheath is the first all nickel-silver sheath that Bruce has done, but you'd never guess that to look at it. His workmanship on it is flawless and the knife just glides into its home, whenever I can force myself to put it away. Am I ecstatic with the result - Naaahh!!!!
The ones of you here that are contemplating ordering a forged blade of most any style, really owe it to yourself to give Bruce a strong consideration. I guarantee you will be very pleased with the entire transaction from beginning to end.

Must have been a real pain wiping all of the oil off of the kickstand!

Hey Firebat....The oil just makes the fire hotter when you start forging......Actually this kickstand was very clean when I got it which was nice.

Hehe- just taking a friendly "stab" at good ole HD. I'm sure it was in great shape when you received it- and again nice work!

Because, of course, 90% of the Harleys ever made are still on the road today. Yes- it's true. The other 10% actually made it home!

Ok- it works both ways- How do you double the value of a Japanese motorcycle? Fill the tank with gas.

Ok, I'm outta here....
