Knife from 2" to 3" with assisted opening

kershaw scallion
kershaw mini cyclone (closer to 3 1/4)

cyclone is dual action, meaning there's a switch to turn off and on the AO.

Thanks to you all!
Lets narrow the choice: assisted and NOT auto, 154CM-ATS34 or CPM S30V steel and Alu or Ti handles

a lot of the ones mentioned have aluminum scales, but i don't know of any 2"-3" AO with those blade steels. someone please correct me if I'm wrong. most are AUS-8.

how about an s30v kershaw leek with g-10 scales, 3" blade (about $70)?

Thanks to you all!

As of right now, and my memory is not perfect, but that would seem to limit your choices to zero. :)

Wait, I lied. Some of the special editions of the Buck Rush are in ATS34 and they have al or ti handles. And the S30V Leek is at the large end of your limit.

I think this is what you want.

Maybe consider the ZDP-189 Leek? Has the Ti handles and although not a steel you specified, is supposed to be at least on the level of S30V and better than ATS-34.

I second the Ti/ZDP Leek, I have one and love it!

ZDP-189 is one of the very best stainless steels in existance and Titanium is always nice :)

It should be good, yet these guys don't offer international shipping.
Think I'll go BM670 apparition even if 154CM does NOT attract me this much.

And, please, where could I find the ZDP189 leek? Is it in a clad (no way) or full ZDP blade? Thanks

The handles are made of 6Al4V Titanium (and it's a framelock btw.).

I'm not 100% sure what kind of washers they have used, as I don't really want to take apart the knife. They look like PB washers from what little I can see without taking the thing apart.

Edit: I looked a little closer with a high power flashlight and the washers are definately bronze in color. Unless it's the grease giving them that color they must be bronze :)

Quite impressive a knife. I'm seriously thinking about it.

Is it the S30V leek made of Ti handles?

Aus8 is ok, very easy to sharpen and takes a pretty good edge. It can't compete with ZDP when it comes to edgeholding, but then it doesn't come with a ZDP pricetag either ;)

The blink looks like a very thin knife, like it could fit in a wallet. It's probably quite comfortable to carry (but so is the leek). It doesn't play in the same class as the Ti/ZDP Leek when it comes to materials though, and that's reflected in the price. You could buy three of those blinks for the price of one Ti/ZDP Leek.

Maybe someone here has both knives and could chime in?
