Anyone know if this is a real one? It's featured up close in a few cut scenes.

Here are the best pics I could grab without the use of a pause button... This is a very cool cinematic btw (occurs less than halfway into disc two)

sorry i cant offer help, but along the same lines ive always wondered what the knife was in counter strike

CS Source uses a Strider of some sort... Dunno the model. Old CS, I have no clue.

the strider in CS was the Mick Strider Custom "badlands bowie." it was the one that had the inner design press fit into the titanium? blade and a mastadon ivory handle. pretty cool stuff. if i remember correctly it was auctioned off for charity.

the knife in that pic (resident evil 4) doesn't look like anything i recognize. but then again i don't know much.

if i were to take a stab at what it resembles, i'd say it's something that would have came from the mercworxs grinders.

its nothing production. i watched quite closely as my freind went through that fight trying to get a lock on what the blade was, and i beleive it to be a unique creation of the game designers.

overall nice design too. just below fantasy enough to be useful and still look cool.

another example being the knife used in the episode of ghost in the shell where the guy cant escape his past war duties of shock and awe torture tactics. his skinning blade is pretty well fantasy, but the design allows for actual utilitarian purposes that gives it a nice sense of credibility as an actual knife rather then a set peice (albiet animated). intense episode seing as the first time i saw it was on television...

I agree.. It's just barely fantasy, but it looks like a useful combat/utility knife too. During level 1 I assumed it was just a Ka Bar, but they started featuring it in cutscenes, it became cooler.

I like those mercworx blades now ;o

when i watched my friend play on the game i thought the knife was the MOD cqd mark v atac but looking at that pic i'm not so sure.

i don't play many video games anymore but i've seen real knives featured in some of them like the strider tiger in extermination on ps2

It's a Mercworx knife. I'm not sure what model though.
I was looking at the strategy guide for the game, and it is definitely from Mercworx.

Hmm, also noticed that ada uses something like a Microtech OTF at one point. Knife fighting krauser (in the non cinematic) part is certainly exciting. ;o

It looks like a modified version of the Masters of Defense MOD Mark V...they may have not had the permission to use the real knife in the game, so they took the original design and changed it a bit.

After having just played through that section today, I must affirm that it(Krauser's knife) is a modified Mercworx design. His has circular cutouts, like a much deeper version of the divots that the actual knives have, in the blade right above the handle, one of which he uses to twirl the knife on his index finger.

The blade shape is most probably influenced by Mercworx. Their Sniper model came to my mind first. The handle looks different though, more like the Kraton handles on some Ontario or Ka-Bar knives.

its a moded verson of the mercworx sniper chilia or somthing like that..sorry cant spell or type to well =D
