Longtime lurker, infrequent poster~

I've learned a lot from these forums, and the exchange has helped me salvage quite a bit of my funds over the past few months, so I figured I'd give away a couple neat blades as a token of my appreciation~

Criteria: I'd like to see your photos of traditionals outdoors in honor of spring! Post a pic accompanied by a simple "I'm in" and whatever else you wish to say. Anyone is welcome to participate and no worries about international, I'll ship wherever. I'll let this run til Sunday and announce the winners via a random number generator. First winner picked gets their first choice of the two and the second gets the remaining knife.

First up is a friction folder from the Taurus mountain region of Turkey. Hand-forged carbon blade with black goat horn handle, bail with leather lanyard. Smooth action, but very secure friction in the open and closed positions. Blade has a nice toothy edge that I stropped until it would slice phone book paper and pop hair. A very quaint, regional working knife!

Next is the slipjoint variant little brother of the renowned Mercator K55K Cat. New and unused. 3" carbon blade with a black folded steel handle. Smooth action, no half-stop, and a decent snap to it. Decent edge grinds, slight burr on one side, should be plenty sharp once that's popped off. Point is blunted, but shouldn't take much to put a new point on there. Solingen made!

UPDATE: jackknife and ddml have been picked as the first and second place winners respectively!!

Take care all~

I've been going more and more to friction folders for my edc. I'd love a chance for the Turkish folder if you please. Here's to I've been using, a Sardinian friction folder and my stand by Opinel that I rarely use the lock on.

Very cool choices, and very generous! Thanks for the chance; I'm in!

Wow! The Turkish folder looks to be the little brother to this guy:

I hope I'm not DQ'ed because of the clipped folders, I rarely have only a single type of knife for these type of pictures!

Those are two very interesting knives, love the look of that friction folder. Thanks for doing this and please count me in :)

Pic was taken last week in Yorkshire, England

Not an entry, but I see a four-leaf clover in the last pic of the original post!

Thanks for the chance...
This one isn't outdoors, but it's a traditional and a plant, and the plant would rather be outside, and there is a 'sun' in the picture as well :)

Ahh, the joys of spring. The birds sing. Flowers bloom. And that first extension cord repair after slicing it with your electric hedge trimmers. Luckily, my SAK Farmer was ready to repair!
