I have a few KNIFE GRINDING JIGS available. The KNIFE clamp is CARBIDE faced. SET YOU PLUNGE LINES with no fear of cutting into jig!!! I have run these head on with a 36 grit ceramic belt. Does not even scratch the Carbide.
Unlike MOST JIGS. You do not need to unscrew your knife blank then realign everything on the opposite side. SIMPLY loosen the TWO THUMB SCREWS. FIP CLAMP WITH BLANK IN IT. RETIGHTEN THUMB SCREWS AND GET GRINDING!!!
You will also see a bar on each side of the jig. That is simply to rest behind the end of the knife blank. Just in case you put a little more pressure on your work.Your blank will not deflect and change the grind!!! The nice thing is. It can also extend outward for a larger blade.
I installed a nice HDPE BASE. THIS MAKES THE JIG SLIDE ACROSS YOUR WORK REST EFFORTLESSLY!!!
** The last Thing I did was installed free floating/spinning Handles. Through a lot of testing. I found that you can keep your hands, wrist, and arms locked. While moving the jig across your grinding belt. This eliminates any human error in moving your hand and accidentally torquing the jig. Which in turn can mess up your grind. This keeps your knife blank in perfect contact with your grinding belt. A SMALL CHANGE FROM EVERY OTHER JIG , BUT A HUGE IMPROVEMENT!!
These are $150 SHIPPED IN CONUS. PM IF INTERESTED. THANKS, JIM
