Knife Handle Stabilizing

I've heard about a product named PEG (poly ethylene glycol). It was for sale at a woodturning-supplie. This firm can be reached at: http://www.craft-supplies.co.uk
The wood is just soaked in this product.

There was a rather extensive discussion on PEG a while back, but I cant remember if it was here or on the knifelist. The upshot was that peg is used to stabilize wood for a short period so it can be worked or turned. It is not a long term stabilization technique, and will not yield a good knife handle material.
