Knife Handling Quirks?

I beat on my knives pretty good, so my quirk is I have to immediately clean it off once I know I’m done with it for the time being. I also clean and oil them once a week. Maybe it’s more maintenance than quirkiness.

Only one method, in the kitchen or outside : keep them clean and dry. A drop of oil at long intervals is nice. I'm in for all the rest (like stropping on your pants, the edge of the table, or the bottom of the coffee cup,... been there, done that) but it's basically fun, not a requirement.

My big quirk is I hate when my knives get oily. I wipe the handle and blades of whatever knife I carry down with a paper towel with some alcohol on it after most days. I move a lot of conduit at work and it comes all oily. I wear gloves while I do it but my gloves get oily and then I use my knife with my gloves on so the handle gets oily. It mostly annoys me because I drive for a living and don't have as much chance to wash my hands as most, so if I have an oily knife, my hands get oily all day from using and playing with it. That and I (almost) never put my knife back in my pocket while the blade is wet at all.
