A Swiss Chef taught me that in hotel school.I normally don't hand someone a knife. I set the knife down and let them pick it up.
When opening a box instead of turning the box around I switch to reverse grip to open the other side (left of opposite in front)

No: I think you might just be "overly well-prepared"...Where do I start? I carry a loaner knife in addition to the others. I usually have at least 4 knives in my pockets, sometimes more. That's enough to tell now, yall might think I'm weird.
