I recently was shown a knife, fixed blade about 5 inches, with what appears to be the words " Original Buffalo Skinner" across the top of the blade. Also back by the handle is stamped "Widax Olingen Germany" as near as I cam make out. There was no sheath with the knife. My friend would like any information you could give him about the knife.

I suspect that "Olingen" is probably Solingen, a major site of cutlery manufacturing in Germany. You might want to post on Bernard Levine's forum. My guess is that this is probably a mass produced hunter made by Puma or some other German firm.
