Was watching The Patriot again on TV last night. Anybody know anything about the knife Mel Gibson's character uses? I really liked the size and blade profile. Custom? If so, whose?

Custom by my guess, was wondering the same thing, are you refering to his or his sons knife?

Raver,
I'm sorry to say I can't find who made the knife in "The Patriot".

I thought it was Tony Swatton of the Sword and Stone. I figured that since he made the other props (tomahawk and straight razor) that he would've naturally also made the knives. I guess I was wrong because he mentions nothing on the website about Patriot knives.

Maybe whoever made the swords made the knives. I'd be interested to find out who it was.

There was an article in Blade about 'The Patriot' right after the movie came out. There wasn't much about the knife, but if I recall correctly they did say that they wanted it to look like it been made from a cut down sword blade, which was a pretty common thing to do at that time.

Wish I had more info.
