Okay, KnifeKnuts. You've have not only gotten me hooked consciously.... but my subconscious is now an active KnifeKnut.

I had a dream (sound familiar?) last night that I was somewhere on vacation or something, lots of family with me, and there was a major disaster and everyone had to flee the area on foot and hike across many mountains to get back home (don't ask me why the Red Cross wasn't there - it was a dream).

So there I was... in this major department store searching for a sleeping back for the long trek home.... a change of clothes... and then I went looking for the sporting goods section to find a decent knife. (What's up with this picture?) And they had sh*t little knifes hanging on pegs, with little nail files for blades. I was totally disgusted and frustrated. I could see the other end of the section where some *real* fixed blade knives were, but I couldn't get to them. I needed a KNIFE because I just knew none of my brothers and their families would have considered needing a knife to trek over these mountains.

Never could make it to the real knives.... elusive.

And you are all responsible for this.

Judy,
Go back to bed, fall asleep, break into a "smithey", and pound yourself out a blade, then get to hiking.
Self-reliance in a "dreamstate" emergency situation is critical.

Dreaming about knives???? Something's wrong with you.

I think that I have the same problem. When you figure out what it is, DON'T let me know. I'm fine with it!!!

Hey Judy,
I know HHBL was right there by your side in this dream.

Did he have his knife with him???

When you joined Bladeforums and read the rules for posting here, way down in the small print is alittle note that says something about Bladeforums causing you to dream about knives. You did read the rules, right??

Hey Jude, haven't seen you for a while!

Your dream is a classic example of repression, you know the right knife to buy, but are fighting it! You obviously want more knives (as any sane person would) and are tucking the thought away in your subconsious.

All I can say is....GIVE IN!

Hope this helps!

...still chuckling at PhilL...

Judy,

Face it, it's time for you to buy a real fixed blade. Do it and your nightmares will go away (relapses are common - but this at least will go away).

The secret is to sleep with a knife -- clipped in the waistband of your pajamas or in a garter or wear a neck knife or a wrist or ankle sheath. Then you'll always have a knife, even in your dreams.

Or you could do like one lady friend of mine and have a knife tattooed on your ankle....

Sorry, Raptor.... HHBL seldom makes appearances in my dreams, with or without his knife! My boss and the welder at work do make guest appearances, however! tee hee hee...

Darn. I should have thought about a smithy shop. I am very self-reliant - but apparently not in this dream! The only problem with wearing a knife to bed is --- wear do I clip it if I sleep... ah... naked. Maybe I will have to start sleeping with clothes on just to have a place to clip a knife. Darn.

Maybe a wrist or ankle sheath would be a good idea, huh? Or maybe just hang a knife from my bedpost within reach. Hey! the ArcLite would be perfect, and I could just flip the chain over my head as I head out over the mountains to safety. Yeah.... that's the ticket!

Phil...... I DO dream in color - all the time. Color, original music, poetry... some really great action packed dreams that would make great movies. Very detailed and intricate. Plus I remember them when I wake up and share them with friends. They are amazed at my dreams AND that I can actually remember the smallest details. I never bother with writing them down. By the end of the day I have pretty much forgotten most of the details, but they are all right there when I wake up. Awesome.

I need a nice small fixed blade. I know I do.

p.s. it's nice to post again - been soooooo busy with projects at work that I haven't had much time in the evenings to post (well, I did have some time - but no brain power).

Hi Judy
please contact a psychiatrist.
Dreaming of "little things" while seeing and wanting the "great things" but cant get, sounds very compensating.
Sigmund Freud could tell you more bout this.

Judy -- we're so proud of you!!

Best bet is to just abandon all hope now, buy a big shiny fixed blade, and resign yourself to the fact that, yes, you have a serious steel addiction. Best of luck!

Does my ArcLite count as a fixed blade even though it's a neck knife?

What would be a nice fixed blade to keep away the nightmares that I could get for under $100? (purple would be nice.....)

Hey Judy, check out the Movie I made on my PhotoPoint site, it's called my "Dream Collection".
You will need Shockwave, if you don't have it you can download it for free at my site. It does take a few minutes to load the pictures, but the people that have seen it think it's pretty cool.
Just click on my Signature Link below, then click on "Watch Movies". There are two now, I hope you have the time to watch them both.

PS, Turn the sound up.
