can some one tell me whats the law about importing knife in new york

What kind of knife? Some knives are under more scrutiny than others. Autos, for example, are restricted in interstate commerce.

The NYS penal law only bans switchblades and gravity knives form sale or import ( cane swords also). NYC bans any locking blade over 4" to be sold or imported as merchadise. The law is on this site under Levine's section. If you are importing them from overseas them check the Customs regulation, but the two items you listed should be fine.....
