Knife LED combo..?

In my experience, combining multiple gadgets into a knife results in lots of bad compromises, as in the cheap "survival tools" some sellers peddle to inexperienced campers. I always have a good knife and a good (small) flashlight on me, and have never had any reason to have both tools combined into one cheesy compromise.

I also like the "convenience" of having both separate.

I mean, what are you planning to illuminate with the flashlight? Are you envisioning both being used at the same time? To cut and illuminate one object?

I use both my flashlight and my knife at work every day. My flashlight needs to be a certain brightness and have a certain run time that far exceeds the capability of a button-cell photon light. Meeting those requirements make the flashlight far bigger than I would consider acceptable for an EDC folder, though the light is really not that big, for a flashlight anyway.

I find myself in situations where I use my flashlight where I wouldn't want to be brandishing a knife, even if it was folded or pointed the other way. ymmv, I guess

And usually made in China

I'm wondering why there isn't a quality knife/quality LED light combo out there (at least that I know of). Considering modern LEDs and battery tech., why wouldn't a major company produce an item like this? Flashlight, or knife company? I know I'm not the only one who carries a small flashlight and folding knife everyday. Someone needs to start these before someone else does.
I also wonder why they have internal lasers for guns, but not internal LEDs. A small LED is very useful, even with a tiny battery and short runtime. -Please tell me these are already out there.

Well...there is the SAK Midnite Manager. It has a blade, scissors, file, small light, and a pen.

RE: gun lites. They simply serve as a target for whatever you may be shooting at in the dark. IIRC that is why the FBI trains their guys to use their lights away from their body and always move after lighting something up. Though it may blind a target, it will also make you a target.
