Perhaps you missed the title of this thread: "Knife Magazines." Or maybe you just have a reading disability.

Which mag do yall think is the best? I want to subscribe to one but cant really decide. So I figured the people over here would know.

I subsribe to Blade, Knives Illustrated, and just recently Tactical Knives and read them all completely.
Blade is beautifully done. Almost worth it just for the photos. And it's monthly so you get the "fix" more often.
KI is about the same, but not quite as slickly done. Published 6/yr.
In both the articles are a mixed bag, sometimes excellent sometimes not.
Both cover a mixture of knife types and interests.

I avoided Tactical Knives for quite awhile. It was just too testosterone laden to tolerate, but it seems to be improving and broadening out now. And toneing down the macho stuff a bit.
For example, a recent article had a nice article on the Wenger Patagonian knives.
Definitely directed toward "tactical" or survival knives.
Published 6/yr.

Knifeworld is pretty good, published monthly.
I think its a bit pricey for a newspaper type pub.
More directed toward the traditional users.
For the collector, it does have excellent, usually very detailed articles. In that area it has more real useable info than the others combined.
Published monthly.

I'm a big Blade fan. Their recent Spring special issue was as good a knife mag as I've read in a while. I find Blade to have more in depth articles and information relative to the others, which seem to be mostly, "Hey, look at this cool new knife!" About some new $20 POS.

Tactical knives is my favourite knife magazine as it usually gives a miss to so called art knives. [ by the way Gunny, you're funny in the Geico commercial, but if those are really your opinions expressed in the "Ask the Gunny" section, you should keep your mouth shut]
I really disagree with the opinions above, about no longer needing magazines because of forums like this. What next? We should shut down all the libraries? Computers will never take the place of a magazine or book you can actually hold in your hand. While you can learn a lot from internet forums, most of the opinions expressed, are no more valid than your own. At least opinions expressed in a magazine are from people who know a thing or two, even if you disagree with their conclusions from time to time. [you also get to see pictures of knives taken by professionals which you get to keep forever if you're so inclined]

:) Another vote for Tactical Knives. They center mostly on production knives, that more people can afford instead of a lot of custom knives that everyone can't afford.;)
