Could you please add me too? Thanks!

I was just looking at the photos you posted a short while ago. Makes me think of the movie where Johnny Depp is the barber that kills his customers. Scary but cool looking razors. I just finished adding your info to the directory.
Thanks, Mark

Does anyone think the listings should include a knife photo? I was thinking a little bigger than a thumbnail photo with each listing showing a knife from each maker that they are proud of.

The directory is getting pretty big and more entries are coming in each day. Any input how it should be organized other than alphabetical?
A couple ideas;
by ABS Mastersmith, Journeyman, Apprentice, other training
Knife Style or Region

I am open to ideas. Although the directory in included on our website, I wanted it to be a resource that would provide the makers more exposure and the collectors a way to find makers that they would not otherwise know about. As for myself, I like to visit your sites to see the knives you guys make.

I like the idea of a thumbnail, though that could end up a whole lot more work for you. :) Images are time consuming to deal with.

As to groupings other than alphabetical, I don't think a lot of makers would fit into any common cuts like ABS designations etc. Many of us don't belong to a recognized organization or work in any particular genre. I don't have any good suggestions for grouping those folks.

I think I have to agree that "not separating makers into genre" is probably best. I will stick with alphabetical order.

My thought with the photos was if someone did not recognize a name, but liked the maker's style as indicated by the photo they would visit that maker's site to see more. It might sound shallow but it works that way with me.

I am doing the directory on my own time because it is fun for me and familiarizes me with the different maker's work. At first my wife thought I was becoming a bit obsessed. (she was right) But now she looks at all the knives with me and is learning quite a bit.

Anyone who is already in the directory and would like a photo added to their listing, please let me know. Just tell me which photo to use and I will copy and resize for the directory.

If you are not already in the directory and would like to be included, just say so.

I have just started adding knife photos to listings in the directory. Those of you who have sent photos, they have been added. The directory is at Knife Makers Directory if you want to take a look.

Those of you who are in the directory and have a photo you would like added please send me a PM.

There is still plenty of room for other knife makers who would like to be added to the directory.

Thanks, Mark

Many of the makers listed in the directory have sent photos that have been added to their directory listings. Anyone who has not added a photo can send it to me at itsaburl@hotmail.com. Other knifemakers are welcome to be added to the directory.

The directory can be viewed at Knife Makers Directory.

Maybe you'll take a look and let us know what you think.
Thanks, Mark
