Jarod Todd's videos helped me a lot. http://jtcustomknives.com/videos.htm

+1 on JT.

There are alot of videos out there. Even though you are going to do stock removal I would recommend you watch videos with forging as well, it will kind of give you an idea about the entire process. (not to mention its just plain fun to watch:))

Wayne Goddard's cable hunter, The Loveless Legend, Ed Caffrey's basic bladesmithing (I havent seen this one but I have seen Ed's damascus, he is a great teacher), Tim Lively's Knifemaking unplugged. Knife Talk with Ed Fowler, I could go on and on but you get the idea.

Here is a great site where you can rent these.

Hope this helps

I would highly recomment S.R, Johnson -How to make a sub-hilt fighter. No info on heat treating in that one though

Any of the Center Cross Instructional Videos series would be a good investment, though you won't get too much in the way of heat treating for most of the more specific vids. You can always ask on here for the best heat treating method of your particular steel (each steel is different...no one-treat-fits-all...and many steels require more equipment to heat treat than the starting maker has on hand).
