Knife Newbie... Question re: Sebenzas

brownie0486,
I didn't say you were upset cause CRK didn't send you a Sebenza, I just said you were pissed cause he INGORED you, ye old fart. Oh I'm sorry for calling you names, you lard ass. I hate people who whine like little girls who didn't get what they wanted. I didn't say that the "facts" you stated were false, I just told you that you were a nobody CRK ignored. Deal with it dude. I guess you don't take rejection very well eh. Oh yea, your web site sucks. My granny can build a better web site. Why the hell would anyone go to your site when they can just go to this site and search for any knife they want. I better stop picking on you, you might start whining about me being mean. Have a nice day ye old fart.

.45acp:

"Brownie you are assuming that Reeves received your e-mail."

--They weren't returned undeliverable.

"It sounds like you are grinding an ax. Why would you care to test a knife that you would not own? Please post the test results of some of the other HIGH DOLLAR knifes you feel are worthy of your ownership."

Microtech has one up for test right now, I won't own one from handling it and haven't tested it.
It's again something thats not me.

Don't own a MOD at this time either. Same reason. Nice but not for me., at least right now.
It's again something thats not me.

Poor assumptions on your part.

"Then quit whining about no response. They did not realize WHO you where....LOL"

Doesn't matter who I or anyone is, the proper thing was to at least respond to an inquiry. If thats not the case as you see it I find it hard to understand all others contacted have at least responded.

"Wow, I'll bet you really give an objective test...judging from how much you get your panties in a wad over 2 whole e-mails that go unanswered."

I sat on this for over 6 months without any people knowing anything. Panties in a bunch? More like I stated something that was fact and everyone jumped right in with assumptions, like you.

"Incorrect sir, it is you that are guilty of unprofessional conduct here, and pardon me for saying so but your ignorance speaks for its self."

Your opinion sir based on supposition, which you are entitled to. No need to defend my opinion based on fact which I'm entitled to as well. Double standard here?

"So all the makers of your HIGH DOLLAR knives send you a sample to test, just to convince brownie to buy their product...WOW...BS"

Actually no, reread above. Some say no thanks, others I test of my own and some have been replaced after testing by the maker.

The BS after the WOW would indicate you are quoting me above that and then insinuating it isn't true by the "BS". That doesn't cut it. I've said nothing of that kind. Don't attempt to put thoughts or words into my writing that are yours and then call it BS like it's mine.

"Esav Benyamin is right on"

Yes he is. CR has every right do run his business anyway he wants. No problem there and have stated so previously. Thats not the issue is it. That circumvents the lack of response which is at issue. Stay on topic.

"did you ever even consider that the man was busy, did not see your e-mails and had absolutely no idea who you were and quite possiably did not care."

All he had to do is say so like other makers in a response. Do you think 6 months would be long enough for him to check his email?

The real issues at this time in the last several threads have been responses from people like you who worked yourselves up over a statement of facts and then attempted to somehow defend in each and everyones own way his actions.

All I've seen from you and the others recently indicates that you presuppose all kinds of other thought processes having taken place to make the statement. And that there is some ax to grind, which there isn't, though others have tried to insinuate otherwise.

Being snide and making all manner of false conclusions and suppostions based on a statement of facts and my opinion of the mans lack of response.

Brownie - I think your attitude is getting in the way of your objectivity. My personal experience with CRK customer service has been wonderful. But, then again, I'm a customer. Given the fact that you've never owned a Sebenza, it seems to me that you are in no way qualified to express an opinion as to their quality.

I have handled the knives he makes, they are good, not the best I've seen for the money but good noentheless

Really? I'd be curious as to what you consider to be a "better knife for the money". What are your parameters of evaluation?

Brownie,

Please refer back to the pompous ass comment of my earlier post; you are the epitome of this cliché.

You really have no point beyond a dislike of CRK that seems to stem from being ignored because you asked for a free knife to test.

Big Deal

TKD,
Easy with the language. I'm not a moderator but I think they will back me up on this. Personal attacks and insults (like name calling and such) are not allowed on this forum. Disagree in a civilized manner and make your case without personal attacks.
If you have to resort to calling someone an "old fart" or "lard ass", then you have already lost your argument, and alot of respect from other forum members.

Brownie,
E-Mail is a funny thing sometimes. Things sometimes get deleted by mistake, or filtered out, or just shuffled into a folder that may be forgotten.
As much as some folks hate it, sometimes "snail mail" is still the best way to contact someone. Fire off a letter and send it registered or certified (whichever one requires that someone sign for the letter).
I'll bet you will get a response.

Allen.

Hmmmmm, $300 is too much for what you get? Let's see, how much do you think it would cost you to buy a watch made to the same standards as a Sebenza? $300? Try $3,000, probably more. What about a high quality pen? $300 or more. The Sebenza is made of the best materials, to a standard, and with a precision virtually unequaled, even in the custom knife arena, with uncanny knife to knife consistancy, consistancy that many of the top custom makers would do well to achieve, and $300 is too much? Exactly how much do you think an extremely high quality knife should cost? $50? Its called diminishing returns, look it up, you pay for the last 5% of quality, its not that hard to understand.

The bottom line here seems to be this, brownie has a problem with CRK. There are more ways than one (e-mail) to contact someone. Just take the time to look at the CRK website.

Brownie, you have chosen to take this little flame war to the open forum. In doing so you have attacked the integrity of a well respected individual. An individual who many here feel produces the highest quality and STANDS BEHIND HIS PRODUCT. Quite frankly brownie, I don't care what you think. I paid a visit to your site and found it rather bland.
If I feel the need to ask how a particular knife performs, I'll seek my answers here at BFC. There are numerous individuals here with plenty of REAL WORLD experience to draw from.
Your repeated statements do come across like you have an axe to grind. If this is the case, take it through the proper channels. You are an individual seeking a knife for testing. CRK is a business that caters to it's customers. A good business always puts it's CUSTOMERS first.

brownie0486,

OK, let me get this straight, you have ownded & handled lots of higher $ knives then a sebenza. But you want a free one to test?

Maybe I'm a dope, but if your real goal is providing test reviews and not getting free knives, then why not just pony up the $ and buy one and test it?

Also I wonder if this thread should be sent to GBU at this point, since there is no knife content any longer.

Hey! That was MY question! ;)

And the answer is.............???

(Oops, I have another question - were the knives that WERE sent for "testing" eventually RETURNED to those generous folks? I mean, since they weren't actually PURCHASED and just used for "testing".....)
