Knife noob wanting advice on spyderco delica 4

Thats a good price for the knife even online. Personally, I've never seen a delica in a brick and mortar store for even close to $50. The same exact knife costs $100 in my local shop.

Its not.

The knife you are talking about is a saber grind, which is what all Delicas were up until about a year or two ago. Spyderco added a full flat grind to the Delica lineup. Those are the ones with the colored handles. Some folks like the saber grind because its a little thicker and probably a little less likely to breakage. Other folks prefer the full flat grind because it is probably a little better slicer.

Many folks around here prefer either a plain edge, or a serrated edge, but not a combination of the two which is what you are talking about. This is purely a subjective, personal preference. But none is objectively "better" than the other. They are all groovy, and you should get whatever floats your boat.

The Powernoodle is wise.

If you like the knife, Mizjif, then I hope you picked one up. The Delica is a fantastic EDC knife and you may find yourself buying it in several more flavours anyway; may as well have a PS model too!

Get it. It's one of my favorite EDC blades. I don't really have a preference to plain or combo. I've carried a combo edge for so long that it's just not an issue. I keep everything sharp so the serrations cut as well as the plain edge.
In a past job the serrations were handy for a lot of the materials I was cutting and I'm just used to having the combo edge. Doesn't mean I don't like plain edge, but the combo is just fine for EDC.
