knife oil

Use it and wipe it off, and it won't rust. If you're paranoid or need to store it for a while, use mineral oil.

How about wd40? It's a pretty common lubricant and I don't think I have seen anything on this thread/forum about it yet. Is there something wrong with it (for 1095 steel application)?

I would also like to know this

We use TUF-GLIDE here at the factory. It provides the best long term protection of anything we have found.

WD-40 works fine although it's technically not a lubricant, it's a water dispersant. I usually just wipe my knives clean on my pants leg at work or the inside of my shirt if I want to stay cleaner looking :D. I haven't had any problems with rust on my Izula. I will wipe it down with an oil (Pam, olive oil, wd-40, etc.) if one is around (usually after sharpening) but don't feel it's anything to lose sleep over.

I've never oiled any of my RAT blades. Never had a problem with rust. If the edge gets rusty: 1) use it more, and 2) sharpen it and the rust will go away.

Usually use Rem-Oil on my uncoated blades, it works well enough. They honestly don't get oiled much either unless they're going to be stored for a long time.
