Dear all

I was waiting during uploading my YouTube review of the Spyderco Street Beat and the Pohl Force Hornet XL when I thought that I should also make a few photos of the Hornet, as it's such a very cool compact fixed blade.
Well, here they are (cover your keyboard against drooling):

Isn't it a beauty?

And meanwhile, my video upload is ready, it's part of my ongoing review series, and if you're interested the review is HERE.

That is a sweet blade makes a great EDC fixed I imagine, I know Sar Customs uses the same logo and is US based and has that same (or very similar) blade, any relation there? Curious, cus Sar rarely has blades for sale they are made few and gone fast.

Pohl Force licenses this custom design from SAR, it's a production version of the custom one. Perhaps less exclusive, but definitely more affordable for the rest of us.

I like everything except the nub in the back. Cool knife nonetheless, even more so because it is from my country of birth.

wow. brilliant design. i like the nub in the back. it's both a pointed pommel and a finger catch for the user's pinky. i particularly dig the black bolts in the scales, which nicely contrast with the satin finish of the blade... kind of gives a rough look to a refined, noveau blade. never seen nuthin' like it befort... an i like it!

I've always like the Hornet design. The Hornet going into production is a great thing for those of us that can't afford the custom version. Nice pictures.

Throw a slab of nice lightly textured G10 or G11 on there and that's my kinda knife. Good to know it's a kinda colab. Production knife. Maybe if they ship to the US I could pick one up sometime. I do like D2.

It's not CPM D2 is it? That would be most awesome.

So how does that handle actually feel?

I've been eying that one for a while. I'm still confused what the holes are about...

My guess is for aesthetics or to decrease the wieght some, either way that is a really cool knife.

I liked it so much after reading this thread I bought one on E-bay!

After a while, I think this might have become an potential christmas to-get knife. Thanks dagon for the review and pics!

Dagon, nice video, I watched it because I am thinking about the Street Beat.
A question about the Hornet...did you figure our what country it was made in?

The only thing that bothers me with the hornet is how the middle finger settles, or actually doesn't seem to settle at all. It looks a bit akward..

Meanwhile I found in this interesting review (in German) that it's made in Taiwan, just as the awesome Alpha One folder. I can guarantee that it's very well made (the folder as well) with a convincing quality/price ratio.

This is rather because it's a bit awkward for me to hold the knife with one hand and take a half decent picture with the other hand. It grips in essence well enough. A peculiarity is that your pinkie can curl around the metal end, but doesn't really add to the grip.
