Well, this is a new one for me.

I am based in Australia. I have bought many knives from BF members in the US - with no problems except for one.

12 months ago I bought a knife from a BF member through this thread:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=784480

After several weeks the knife did not show up and the seller assured me it left the USA and must be in Australia.

This morning I saw the same knife - same photo - being sold by a different member.

I did some checking and found the Original seller, who assured me that the knife was shipped to me, re-sold the knife nearly a year later:

An innocent member bought it from him and is now selling it:

I have no problem with the current seller - he has done nothing wrong - but how could the original seller sell the same knife twice - after assuring me it was shipped ?

I am confused and a little annoyed......any advice is appreciated....

Why are we only hearing about this over a year later from the original sale? Please explain.

I noticed the original seller was online and PM'ed him to also explain.....

And ... after said explanation ...

I would very much like to know the Forum Name, at least, of the potential offender.

I tend to avoid offenders.

So you paid RABII for the knife and never got it? He kept your money and you never followed-upon it?

I think waiting 12 months is an incredible length of time, but if you really can prove that it was the same knife that he sold to someone else, then RABII owes you a refund for cost+shipping.

Have you followed-up with him lately? any response?

Why don't you send him a link to this post and see if he answers?

As I had trust in a member with 100% feedback I have never made this public - it was shipped but never arrived. I had assurances from the seller it left the US. I had written it off as "Lost in the Post". These are the risks of OS transactions and are listed in most seller's conditions. IE - no responsibility taken for items once shipped OS.

I have contacted the original seller and have been advised that there ws in fact 2 modified SAR4s and that the same photo was used.

The current knife for sale is apparently almost identical.

He followed up on it at the time. It went missing in the mail is the conclusion. He has done nothing wrong AFAIK.

I am in communication with both members at the moment. It appears to be a twin knife - hence my alarm.

To all...
To make this right, Magoo and I (the intermediate buyer) agreed on a deal, he will pay me a bit less than I paid and I will get this knife to our friend down under.
Right is right, no blame anywhere. Happy Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas to all ! No blame for anyone - just communication and co-operation !
Thanks to Rabbii and to Armosino for helping me work this out.
BF members are pretty cool guys....

While i hate to hear of a lost knife going to anyone, i understand that it does happen.
I'm glad you all were able to work this out in an adult manner....as should be.

Thank you!

Merry Christmas to you also!
