• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

what are some of the knivemakers using to lay theyre knives on that give them a good photo. does a person need to buy special light to get good photos

i havent made any knives yett but it looks like most are a fabric that will not deture from a blades apperance. faifly simple just arrange maby a yard or two on a table and snap away.

just my idea might work and ifin im givin away trade secrets oops

Log onto Bladegallery.com or any of the other knife purveyor sites and study the photos. You can learn a lot in a short time. A true white light like an Ott light or the true white light bulbs enhance the colors. If you are using digital make sure the white level on your camera is adjusted for the type of light you are using. Shooting outside during the day is also a cheap alternative to buying a special light. Just use an old sheet for a difusser to keep the blue sky from turning all your whites and silvers light blue.

I built my own inexpensive lightbox using the information presented by Coop (and others) in this link. It's worked out quite well for me.
