Apart from knives, I always found those little knife openers to be an interesting piece of art. There is some fascinating about them. I don't have much, but I am counting on you fellow knife enthusiasts to fill that thread with all sorts of knife picks!

Let me start with this:

Here are two RR1092, RR2321 buckshot bone, and bare metal GEC blade key and tube popper.

I believe the upper one of RR1092 is a combination of the old frame and new shield, for it says Rough Rider on the stamp but Rough Ryder on the shield. Both came in the same parcel, by the way.

I know GEC made those blade keys with many sorts of covers, so feel free to post a pic if you have any! Letter openers are welcome too!

Only one I have is this A.G. Russell one and only because it was a surprise gift included with a knife purchase (not from Russell)
Last year when I received it, I found them on the Russell site in about 3 different covers, but can't find them now
Anyway I did learn something I guess ... A.G. Russell Knives Est.1964 China

That's my default too ;) only the left is any good mind. I'm lucky to have strong, steady grip and tough nails. Knife picks look interesting but I'd only lose them...
Yep, I only use my left thumbnail. It's worked for me for many years. I've yet to meet a blade that would break my nail, but I don't carry knives with much more then a 7 pull.
I do think the knife picks are a cool item though.

wait wait there was a thread about this once...

are you a righty that opens the knife with your left?

Renamed the thread, now it should be more search-friendly. I also think that something like GEC's letter openers, which evolved from blade keys (or vise versa?) are OK to post here too. Just hope to create a single place for the subject.
