Some random knife pics for pre-weekend entertainment (and it might help someone with size comparisons).

Sorry for the lighting/shadows/fingerprints/focus issues :foot: - I am a camera newbie... :o

Below, from L to R - Spyderco Manix, Fallkniven PXL and F1, RAT Izula

Just caught the end of a Joseph Rogers well worn slip joint Model designation appears to be their address (No.6 Norfolk St Sheffield), Fenix TK10, Buck Alpha Hunter Folder, Spyderco Hossom Forester, Leatherman Charge Ti, (and Manix and PXL again)

Old bayonet/machete WWII era just out of family storage, needs some oil

Group shot of above

The few in this group shot that are not listed above include a couple of Leatherman knives (toward either end), a Joseph Rogers ss folder from Vietnam War era (1/1970), and more to the right a Buck Mayo collaborative folder, Spyderco Endura 4 serrated and another Hossom but the Woodlander version...

Nothing too exotic there but I like them... actually I like most knives! :D

I have tried to keep the file size down. Let me know if you want a close up of anything in particular or info on one of the blades.

Cheers

Edgy

Looks good. Nice assortment of utility tools. Thanks for sharing.

I like the old WWII bayonet. :D

Any info/specs. on that Machete?

Thanks for your comments, guys.

The machete came from my grandfather who was a machine gun instructor in Darwin during WWII. I think it might be a dual purpose Mk I A24 Bayonet, for airborne troops for use with the No. 1Mk III Rifle. If I'm wrong, please let me know :o

From what I've read off the net the stampings on the Pommel ranged from 3001 to 6412, it was approved for production on the 3 April 1944 and the pattern was sealed on the 12 April 1944. By 1946 it was available to personnel other than the airborne troops. The total production run was apparently 3,412 units.

Printed on the back of the sheath/scabbard is R.M.B. Ltd. 1944. Apparently the scabbards are hard to locate, just under 2,500 sheaths listed in the only order for them.

The faded coachwood handle marking is 'SLA 743' and pommel marking '4765' with a small arrow head marking near the base of the blade/ricasso.

Specs OAL 41 cm (16 and 1/8 inches), blade 28.5cm (11 and 1/4 inches), thickness at spine 6mm (1/4 inch), muzzle diam 16mm.

I'll post a couple of my old folders, along with this machete, in Bernard's forum in the near future and hopefully get some 'confirmed' info. :D

Ti blade by Reese Weiland for Super CQC7 (before I waved it)...

Great pictures guys! Edgy, love that PXL. I have the same maroon micarta coming in next Wednesday. Really looking forward to it! Charlie M., love those autos, especially the Burn. Reese W. is a heck of a knifemaker. I had two of his knives, a Wasp, and I think the other model was called a CAR, but unfortunetly had to sale them during my divorce a few years ago. Keep thinking I might get another one.

Here are all my Reese Weiland pieces. Most of these are knives he has modded.

I currently have 8 projects with him. Most are for mods, 3 are custom and 2 of them are protos.

So-Lo, Im guilty as charged. Death by a thousand cuts?:D

Here's our family autos...

CM, I wish the laws in Oz were more sympathetic to the autos... although I can see some Spyderco waved models tempting me in the next 2 months!

That Del Raso custom is gorgeous knife!

Jamppa, Peter Dal Raso is a BFC forum member. Mine is a fairly straight forward example of what that man can do.

Edgy, love that PXL. I have the same maroon micarta coming in next Wednesday.

Cutter, the PXL has the quality of a gentleman's EDC but in truth it is a beast of a knife and one of my favourites! Solid lock up, smooth action... it takes me a little bit more of an effort to sharpen but holds a good edge well. Post yours up!

Thanks for all the comments, guys!! :D

Just torched the clips on our UT6's :D

That Del Raso is super nice...
I looked for his site, but could not find it.

Hi Marion, I don't think Peter has a site of his own but his work can be found on the net, also a few months ago someone posted on BF some excellent examples of fighters that Del Raso made in s30v. I will try some google-fu but you might be better able to dig that thread up with your site search ability (Peter responded to that thread). I was lucky enough to meet him earlier this year - he is a nice guy and seems happy to chat about knife making.

CM, first you corrupt me with evil thoughts of waved knives, now I have a hankering to go out and torch one of my clips... they look good.

I'll Play!

All welcome to play at BF.com!! :D

Hitthespot, you'll note that I have an Izula in black (pic above) and I love it. I've been toying with the idea of a handle 'in-fill' rather than two handle slabs but yours look great, and that Randall blade is awesome!

Some of the mods you guys are up to have me feeling sheepish about my meagre attempts...

Below is an F1 sheath with add on belt clip (I'm working on the beta version). I added some jimping to the F1 spine for a thumb stop but I need to get a better photo of that. Below that is a close up of a Joseph Rogers pocket knife, my uncle passed it on to me for safe keeping.

Rat is suppose to come out with handles for the Izuza very soon according to an email I received From Jeff Randall over at Rat Cultery. I'm guessing those will be fill in handles that are removable.

I'm thinking about a Fallkniven F1. I may buy the blank blade and send it to Phillip for a handle. His work is great. My Izula is so comfortable now.
