Hey guys,
i've gotten a lot of questions about some of my knives, i thought i'd try and answer in bulk on here. it was pouring rain all mornin but i got out for some woodsbumming anyways and packed the knives along with me. set up shop under a downed tree by the river and tried my best to snap some shots. i set up under a garbage bag, and sat on one too (didn't cut them they'll be used for gardage another day haha.)
the pack is a snugpak sleeka force 35. it's my favorite pack and has a built in water proof covering you can see in the pic. don't think i need to explain anything about the fiskars and sak farmer haha along with a tiablo a1 light.
1-TK bushcrafters, scandi grind. white corian handles with red spacers. one neck sheath one belt carry. both 01 tool steel. good patina of'em too. they're thick for me at 4mm so i'll be moving these on hopefully to someone that'll use'em.
2-MMHW "mini skinners" great utility blade, under-rated knives and knife shape in my opinion. natural micarta, 5160 spring steel i believe. bought a second one that's still mint waiting for its turn.
3-crumps forge neckers. stainless steel 15n20 maybe? i've forgotten Crump floats around here as "steelshaper" i believe maybe he can shed some light. glow in the dark handles similar to G10 but grippier.
4-Bruce Culberson- 01 steel, perfect workmanship, before i even recieved the knife i was in discussions with bruce about a new project we're both excited about. love his aesthetic. it'll be patina'ed and beaten soon enough. best knife i own as far as i'm concerned, and for my uses.
5-Walter Davis-i think 1080somethin' can't remember, nice lookin' hamon, micarta handles, great sized handles this thing takes a beating all day long. love this beast. the only chopper i've ever needed.
6-Jack Walden- of Del City Oaklahoma.440c and the sharpest knife i've owned. really beautiful knife. scary sharp. great ergos for me.
when i get moved in i'll get the good camera out and get some miles under me and some photos for you guys of the area. found a great new wild leek patch on my hike today. it's nice to get out in the wet and rain i find.
hope this all answers some questions.

I lovre those dropped edges on the mineral mountains. My favorite blade design for a small knife.

great stuff Russell... thanks man.. i really like that Walter Davis chopper and thet Bruce Culberson knife...:D

Sweet knives bro!

How long have you had that Walter Davis knife?

That thing is awesome!

Cool. I really like Walters work. I have a couple of his smaller knives.

I really dig the shape of that big one. Looks Macheteish! Not to mention the big comfy handles!

it's been great for me, a perfect chopper that fits my hand well. it's also his leatherwork (i believe one of his first aswell.) he talked his leatherworking skills down, practically tried to talk me out of it haha. but i've been beating it up for a year and there isn't a stich that's budged. i could hold this sheath upside down and shake it around and the knife wouldn't budge wither, locks right in. couldn't be happier with the setup.

Willam.M-the in hand shots are the first thing i always hope to see when looking at a knife, so i couldn't leave them out. i'd rather see them than any of the others most of the time.

A man after mine own heart. :D

Those look great, I love the handle dimensions on the scandi bushy, and really dig that Walt Davis. May have to spring for a chopper from him. :D

I love the honest use your blades have clearly seen.

I've always thought those MMHW Mini Skinners looked nice but I'm sure it said they were 1/4" stock on the site which I thought a little too thick, yours look thinner though ?

You me Breeden belongs to Coaldigger? LOL
Great set up you have there. Neat knives, I like um.

Hey pitdog, mine are 1/8th thick. it's probably my most used blade outside the kitchen. haven't found many tasks they don't take care of, and all the MMHW stuff can take a beating. the mmhw site does have them listed at 1/4 inch. i bought mine of a guy that claimed they were a custom order but never explained any further. i suppose now i know! it's too bad, these are great at this thickness. i do have an as new extra in 1/8th thickness, if you're interested.

Don't really want to hijack the thread but how do you like that Snugpak? What model is it?

safetyman, it's the sleeka force 35 pack by snugpak. and i feel it's outstanding in its class (size) i can do a quick review tomorrow perhaps with some shots of it on and its various parts and straps. the raincover tucks into its own compartment under the pack. i've beaten this thing up for a good 4 months now without a single tear or any issue at all. a guyot 38oz bottle fits snuggly in either 'side pouch' i couldn't have asked for more in this size of pack. if there's interest i'll try and get that review up tomorrow, let me know.
