Hello, I am new here, I have a few questions about selling a knife on Ebay. i have a 1917 A.C. CO. Commando knuckle knife that i have tried to list on ebay a couple of times and they keep taking it down. The reason is because it has knuckles that resemble brass knuckles or something. Is this knife considered illegal? How could i go about selling this knife on ebay or maybe other means of selling it?

Get a gold membership and sell it here. Gold membership is 25 bucks. I'm guessing the knife is worth more than that. A custom maker sells knuckle knives with spikes that are repros of knives used in WW2, I'm guessing they are legal, but I would ask the mods before I sell in there. Check out your local knife laws.

On eBay, if there is question of legality anywhere that the knife could end up going then they won't allow it to be listed. Knuckle duster knives are illegal in Canada and may be in some States as well, so it is likely that eBay are just covering their butts.

Ebay goes by California state law more or less. Knuckle knives could be illegal in certain states, Cal. is one of them.

Have you tried omitting "knuckle" from the listing? AND.... a description that states you will NOT sell to California bidders?

Just a thought.

I have seen them advertised as paperweights.

The usual quality of them makes that not far off.

:D

Thanks for the answers. i thought of relisting without pics of of the knuckles and not saying its has them in the listing. if someone wanted a this knife they would know what it is from the model number or from other pics of it. well anyway thanks for the help.

Call it a 1918 Trench Knife - Trench Knives were historical, right?

Knuckle knives are bad.

I see automatics and balis sold there all the time, it's all in the wording.

Can you direct me to those custom makers? I'm in the market for a trench knife reproduction.
